Well they have completed the Nijmegen Four Day March challenge for the second year and they all finished looking great.
This will be the last one and who can blame them! We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for such a fine effort in supporting us.
A total of over £8000 has been raised over the two marches.
A fantastic amount, for which we are extremely grateful. This has been and will be spent wisely and help future families.
We will keep in touch with Terry and wish Ollie a bright, happy and healthy future.
To the Brookes family and friends who have supported them “Thank You”.
The family enjoy a well earned drink after the Nijmegen Four Day March

You may remember Terry (dad of Ollie), Ian and Jimmy who raised lots of money for us by completing the Nijmegen Four Day March last July – well they are doing it again!
This year Terry will be joined again by Jimmy and two new team members Kris Blackhurst and Karen Raeburn.
The Brookes Family stayed at the flat in November while their son (Ollie) was undergoing intensive treatment. Very kindly Terry (Dad) and two friends Jimmy & Ian are raising funds for us and two other charities by taking part in The Nijmegen Four Day Marches.
Terry, Jimmy and Ian are currently marching up to 50 kilometres a day. All being R.E.M.E veterans, we know that they will have the mindset and drive to complete their task.
Day 1
Day one done, with no major damage to us that would prevent us from reaching the start line tomorrow. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
It is rather warm, hoping for a thunderstorm or two tomorrow 🙈🙈. There are houses that have sprinklers set up sprinkling the road for the marchers to walk through, which helps 👍👍

Yesterdays update can only come this morning, as we needed to firstly know how one of the team was faring after two gruelling days. Unfortunately Ian isn’t able to start day three as the last two days have taken there toll. It was a valiant effort. Onwards and upwards, Jimmy and l will be starting day three on what is known as the seven hills of Groesbeek’.
Ian we wish you all the best and hope that you’ve been able to rest up.
Day 3
The seven hills of Groesbeek have now been dispatched. With 75 miles completed, tomorrows 25 miles should hopefully be a formality. Best of luck chaps!
Celebrating with a well earned beer
Day 4
After 4 days, that was such a beautiful sight to see! Thank you everybody for your messages of support. More to follow…..
After a beer or two to celebrate our completion of the Nijmegen Marches, we have decided to leave the donation site running for another month at least. There are so many that have, if not actually pledged. Certainly implied that they wish to donate to our charities. So by keeping the give as you live page open it will give those people the ability to keep to their word. The physical challenge may now have been completed, but now starts the serious challenge of reaching our target. There are so many people that have helped us along the way that we need to thank, over and above all that have already donated. We will do this in our final update.

A massive thank you to the team at Regency Grove Consultants and to everyone who has donated to their JLL Triathlon Fundraiser. So far they have raised a MASSIVE £6,826 in aid of Emma’s Bubble Trust, absolutely smashing their target and well shocking all of us!
Well done to the brave few, Ricky West, Matthew Clift, William Sandford, Jack Gearing and Benjamin Major MRICS who took part last week, each completing their respective events in very respectable times. Thanks guys!
Maria Clarke Green is taking place in a 12km Obstacle Course on Saturday 13th May.
What’s even better is that she’s just smashed through her £500 target and so has upped the target to £1000! We’d love for you to help get her there by donating at https://justgiving.com/fundraising/maria-clarke-green.
Thank you Maria and best of luck.

We know that our flat is appreciated but it is always nice to have this confirmed.

Ollie is doing well and according to Dad is an unbelievable young chap! We like to think that helping the family to stay together during Ollie’s long stay in hospital has contributed to his recovery and improved the mental state of Mum & Dad. As we all know family is so important.
Good luck guys. We know that the training is well under way, and we hope that it continues to go well.

Thank you for your continued support this year. Your generosity and commitment to Emma’s Bubble Trust has helped us to continue to provide a comfortable place for young cancer patients and their families to stay when needed.
When we read the comments written in our Visitors Book we know that with your help we are making a difference!
We were able to hold our Charity Ball at the beginning of December which was a great evening and raised a fantastic total of £13,565
This has been our only event in almost two years so every penny raised is very much needed and appreciated.
Thank you to those that took part in our virtual Christmas raffle. Our winners were K Govier, S Stanley, P Manning, S Shepherd and Charlotte.
We are launching a ‘Give A Coffee” campaign from 1st until 15th January. We ask that you give up one coffee and instead donate that money via Justgiving or our website. The price of one coffee will pay for the electricity for the EBT flat for one day. This will make a huge difference to our running costs.
On behalf of the EBT team I wish you a very Happy 2022 and once again thank you for your continued support.
Stay healthy and hopefully we shall see you at an event during the year.
